How to play Blackjack
Goal Of Blackjack: The goal of Blackjack is to beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21. The dealer will deal all players at the table 2 cards while dealing themselves one card up and one card down. Then you either hit (choose another card) or stand (stay with two cards) based on what your total is. All cards count as face value and ten through to kings count as ten. The aces can count as either 1 or 11.
Hit 21: You want to hit 21 or get as close to 21 without going over. If you hit and go over 21, your hand is immediately dead and you lose the bet. There are cases where you can stay with a weak hand depending on the dealers up card. The dealer must hit on anything under 16 and stay on totals of 17 or higher. Some casinos may allow the dealer to hit on a soft 17 which is a total of 17 with an Ace their hand.
No 6 Tip: If the dealer has a 6 showing, he is likely to hit and the chances of them going bust are much greater. It is a good strategy to stay regardless if you have 20 or 10 when the dealer has a 6 showing. This is just a basic strategy, but you can hit or stay whenever you wish. This blackjack strategies article goes into more detail on the techniques you can employ to improve your hand
Why play Blackjack
